CHORALSCHOLA
Department of Church Music of the University of Music and Performing Arts in Vienna

The CHORALSCHOLA of the Department of Sacred Music of the University of Music and Performing Arts in Vienna (Austria) is composed of students and graduates of the renowned University. It is directed by Antanina Kalechyts, who has taken over the professorship for Gregorian Chant and Liturgy in 2020. It regularly organizes church services. In addition to liturgical tasks, it performs concerts at home and abroad. It has performed at festivals, symposia and scholarly events that focus on the interpretation of Gregorian chants using the oldest manuscripts.

ANTANINA KALECHYTS (Belarus, 1984) is a graduate of the church music study courses (Gregorian chant and organ, concert organ, and orchestral conducting) at the University of Music and Performing Arts in Graz. In 2016, she received her doctorate in Gregorian chant from the same University under the mentorship of F. K. Praßl. She has been awarded at multiple international organ competitions. She is co-founder and director of the vocal ensemble Graces & Voices dedicated to the interpretation of the Gregorian chant and contemporary music, with whom she won several awards for CD productions and festival participation. 

In 2020, Kalechyts has been appointed professor of Gregorian Chant and Liturgy at the University of Music and Performing Arts, Vienna. She is particularly wanted as a conductor of ancient and modern music, as well as opera.
