FLIPSIDE TALE
Jazz Trio

The ensemble Flipside Tale, founded in 2016 and rooted in Graz, is a master of the high art of storytelling in a spectacularly fresh way, and entirely is without the use of a singing voice. The classic trio lineup of piano (Viola Hammer), bass guitar (Maximilian Alois Ranzinger), drums (Philipp Kopmajer) meets all, but not only the standard expectations of such a trio. Instead, it surprised listeners with an exciting synergy of instrumental sound worlds. It is a true pleasure for the ears, arising mostly by the fact that three very experienced musicians never prioritize their own individual skills over the common musical composition. You will be amazed at the melodies, popping up seemingly out of nowhere. The ensemble takes its time with the telling of the stories that are a part of every song. It creates miniature landscapes of sound for the movie in your head. The musical composition from V. Hammer and P. Kopmajer are unconventional in structure and sequence, they increase tempo and dynamics, and decrease them again, as it suits for thesong. With the effect that the listeners during the progression of the composition are more and more attached to the imaginary lips of the ensemble.
