Trio LUR
Ensemble

Lur Trio (Croatia, 2011) was founded in 2011 at the Academy of Music in Zagreb as a part of the chamber music course led by Lj. Očić, collaborating with P. Mašić. Current members of the Trio are sopra-no Monika Cerovčec, organist Ursa Ljuban, and flutist Lucija Petrač. Through their work, friendship and music, they’ve found a common interest in chamber music of the Baroque period. Due to their musical curiosity, they’ve extended the repertoire to later periods too. Their program includes works for flute, voice and organ or harpsichord.

So far, the LUR Trio has performed at the Academy of Music, the student concert cycle Virtuoso, the concert cycle in the Očić Salon, the Passion Heritage Days in Zagreb, the international MAGfestival in Split, and presented recitals in Split, Zagreb, Trogir, Omiš, Virovitica, Gradac, Gospić, Oštarije, and on islands of Vis, Šolta, Rab, Brač, Čiovo and Hvar. In 2014, the Trio held concerts in the Ceremonial Hall of the Institute of Sacred Music in Rome and in the Basilica della Misericordia in Sant’Elpidio a Mare during a cultural-diplomatic project between Croatia and Italy called Omaggio a Pietro Nachini, in collaboration with the Embassy of the Republic of Croatia to the Holy See. The same year, it was awarded by the city of Trogir for its contribution at the Trogir Summer of Culture. In 2016, they collaborated with the Moscow association De boni arte and the Embassy of the Republic of Croatia in Moscow, where the Trio held an Easter concert at the Catholic Cathedral of the BVM and a couple of concerts in the Caucasus – in the Philharmonic Hall in Pyatigorsk and Jesentuki. The same year, the Trio held successful concerts in Paris – in collaboration with the Embassy of the Republic of Croatia in Paris, the administration of the central Parisian church of Saint Madeleine, the Franciscan Monastery Le Chapelle des Franciscains and the AMCA association. In 2017 and 2018 it performed in Salzburg, at the Croatian Music Days and in the Church of Saint Andrew.

Trio Lur promotes the work of Croatian composers and advocates the international performance of works written by contemporary Croatian authors. So far, it has had the opportunity to premiere works Prosim bratja verne duše by I. J. Skender and Vocalise by A. Knešaurek during concerts in Russia and Paris. In 2018, it premiered Cor mundum by I. Božičević at the Passion Heritage Days. After the concert at the MAGfestival in 2018 at the Cathedral of Saint Domnius in Split, the music magazine Cantus issued an excellent review, which emphasized not only the quality of performance, but the beauty of Croatian music and the works of Croatian composers as well.

At the end of 2020, the Trio released its first CD Cor mundum, published by Cantus. Since it features Knešaurek’s Vocalise, the Trio was nominated for the Porin Music Award in the category Best Classical Music Composition.
